I knew the dream had to do with the Gathering of the Generals. I began to write the revelation as it pertained to the end time gathering.

I had originally planned to submit a simple version of the word for 2005 that resulted from a dream and be done, but it appears that it will have to come in several parts. The word for 2005 came almost a month after the dream, but is so intrinsically intertwined with the Gathering that you will want to experience all that is within the revelation. However, I felt an urgency to get the first part out NOW.

THE WAY IT BEGAN…

I was talking with a friend of mine on the phone; I thought we were ending the conversation when I felt I was supposed to share a dream with her. Even though I had the dream October 23, it confirmed some things the Lord had been saying to her. The enemy has gathered, but their destruction will come SUDDENLY. It is amazing, as I told her the dream more details came to life. Revelation and details continued even after our conversation ended.

DREAM BACKDROP:

One Saturday afternoon, in my quiet time, I asked the Lord several things of the Lord, one of which was to reveal any plots the enemy might have against my loved ones, friends, or me. Shortly after, I took a short afternoon nap. The Lord seems to answer my questions and usually speaks profoundly to me through dreams.

THE DREAM…

The setting and some of the events were similar to a movie I had seen a number of months prior. I cannot remember its name. Two opposing armies had been bitter rivals for centuries. It had been snowing for days …the temperature was bitter cold. The righteous and the unrighteous gathered in a ravine with mountains all around. The setting offered no quick avenue of escape, not that either side appeared willing to retreat. With great determination, they faced each other …they had come to a place of “do or die”. The righteous had made a decision to take a stand even though it appeared they were cornered and outnumbered. (2 Chron 32:7-8) With preparation behind them and a divine strategy in place, they knelt poised in wait for a confrontation. They watched as the enemy forces (all) gathered on the other side and began their advance. With vengeance and hatred in their eyes and confidence in their step, the enemy continued to march. Soon their confidence turned to confusion. There were no arrows or spears coming toward them. They knew something was terribly and deadly wrong. When they reached the middle of the ravine, the ground below them began to crack. They had reached the point of no return. SUDDENLY the ice gave way and in great numbers, the enemy plunged to an icy death, never to be seen again.

When I awoke the Lord said, “Many enemies have gathered but they are treading on thin ice. I have allowed them to gather, but SUDDENLY you will see them fall for ‘I’ have set a trap for them”. (See interpretation)

THE WORD FOR 2005

My friend and I had been discussing that we were coming upon the New Year.

When I got off the phone, the Lord said, “2005 is the year of Double Grace for mine, but a year of double disgrace for My enemies.” I wondered what that meant. He said, “That which is grace to you shall be disgrace to the enemy” and it will be seen by the multitudes. I began thinking about the dream. That same frozen icy river that brought disgrace to the enemy was an act of grace and victory to the righteous.

THE WORD UNFOLDS

Even as I write this, I hear the Lord saying, “There will be a divine exchange in this coming year. I will take your disgrace and give you “Double Grace” …IF you will forgive it and forget it. That which you bring to me with all your heart in 2005 will be covered with Double. For there will be a double blessing and grace that I will pour out upon you in this new season. ‘Double’ for your trouble. For behold, those that have troubled you have troubled me. They will receive double for their trouble and it will not be a pleasant sight”.

In this season, the line has been drawn in the sand. As President Bush so eloquently said, “You are either for us or against us.” The Lord is also saying the same thing …”which side are you on? …for in this coming year I will repay double”.

I kept hearing “For My Name Sake”. In this coming year “the Double” will not be for your sake, but for the sake of restoring honor and reverence for who He is. The nations of the earth will partake of “the Double” as an overflow of His purpose being accomplished. As He said, for some it will not be pleasant. We have come into a season where God has grown weary of the nonsense regarding His name and His people.

Isa 52:5-6 5 But now what have I here, says the Lord, seeing that My people have been taken away for nothing? Those who rule over them howl [with joy], says the Lord, and My name continually is blasphemed all day long. [Rom 2:24.] 6 Therefore My people shall know what My name is and what it means; therefore they shall know in that day that I am He who speaks; behold, I AM! [Ex 3:13, 14.]

Ezek 36:22-24 .22 Therefore say to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord God: I do not do this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for My holy name's sake, which you have profaned among the nations to which you went.23 And I will vindicate the holiness of My great name and separate it for its holy purpose from all that defiles it--My name, which has been profaned among the nations, which you have profaned among them--and the nations will know, understand, and realize that I am the Lord [the Sovereign Ruler, Who calls forth loyalty and obedient service], when I shall be set apart by you and My holiness vindicated in you before their eyes and yours. 24 For I will take you from among the nations and GATHER YOU out of all countries and bring you into your own land. AMP

 Some have cried out, “How long! How long will You allow this to go on?” Some have done so with a narrow view of “me and mine”, others of us from the kingdom perspective …watching, and grieving over His name being blasphemed among the nations.

An excerpt from the writing for my prophetic illustration “THE WATCHMEN”:

Habakkuk had a burden that was overwhelming. He was weary of seeing the will of God seemingly postponed …weary of seeing sin and iniquity abound. It is as though he is saying, “Why do You let me see all this “stuff”, if You are not going to hasten Your Word to perform it? I cry out, and You do nothing about it.” Seeing things contrary to the will and purposes of God should provoke us to cry out for change continuously, until it manifest in the natural. Whether in the natural or spiritual, it is our responsibility to stand our watch and cry out until righteousness rains down from above. Those who have a similar heart cry will enjoy and experience the fullness of “The Double” that God will be serving in this coming season.

Isa 40:1-2 40:1 COMFORT, COMFORT My people, says your God.2 Speak tenderly to the heart of Jerusalem, and cry to her that her time of service and her warfare are ended, that [her punishment is accepted and] her iniquity is pardoned, that she has received [punishment] from the Lord's hand double for all her sins. AMP       

Isa 61:7 7 Instead of their shame my people will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace they will rejoice in their inheritance; and so they will inherit a double portion in their land, and everlasting joy will be theirs. NIV

Throughout scripture, we see the double being measured and served. Isa 40, God speaks through Isaiah the prophet and says the warfare has ended …Jerusalem has received double for her sins and her iniquity is pardoned. Actually, the double she received was less than she deserved. In Isa 61, we see the DIVINE EXCHANGE –for their shame they receive double honor, for that they lost or forfeited they shall possess double wealth. In Job's case, when God turned again his captivity, he gave him twice as much as he had before. According to tradition, the first-born son received a double inheritance. Hannah who was her husband’s favorite received a double portion. Elisha desired above all a double portion of the Spirit and anointing from his master. In Zech, the Lord released them from the pit and charged them to return to (Him) their stronghold and He would restore their former prosperity.

DOUBLE EXAMPLES

1 Sam 1:5 5 But to Hannah he gave a double portion, for he loved Hannah, but the Lord had given her no children. AMP

2 Kings 2:9 9 And when they had gone over, Elijah said to Elisha, Ask what I shall do for you before I am taken from you. And Elisha said, I pray you, let a double portion of your spirit be upon me. AMP

Zech 9:11-12 11 As for you also, because of and for the sake of the [covenant of the Lord with His people, which was sealed with sprinkled] covenant blood, I have released and sent forth your imprisoned people out of the waterless pit. [Gen 37:24; Ex 24:4-8; Heb 9:16.] 12 Return to the stronghold [of security and prosperity], you prisoners of hope; even today do I declare that I will restore double your former prosperity to you. [Ps 40:2; Isa 40:2.] AMP

By now, you are saying what about double for the enemies. Now before I go on, let’s establish who the enemies are according to the New Testament. Eph 6:11-13 describes who the enemy is …remember the armies and enemies that came against us in the Old Testament are only symbolic of the principalities, powers and rulers of darkness and hosts of wickedness.

One of the most powerful examples is found in Revelation 18:6. Actually, the double really refers to the way He will “mete out” judgment to those who have wronged His people and defamed His name. Last year, I had a very graphic dream about Judgment coming to “all delegated authority” especially those responsible for the “shedding of innocent blood. That is another dream for another time.

Rev 18:6 Repay to her (Babylon) what she herself has paid [to others] and double [her doom] in accordance with what she has done. Mix a DOUBLE PORTION for her in the cup she mixed [for others]. [Ps 137:8.]

THE DREAM INTERPRETATION –THE GATHERING

…With great determination, they faced each other …they had come to a place of “do or die”. The righteous had made a decision to take a stand even though it appeared they were cornered and outnumbered. (2 Chron 32:7-8)… The rest of the dream is found earlier in the article.

 Eph 6:13…  and having done all, to stand. NKJV

Ex 14:13-14 And Moses said to the people”, Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever. 14 The LORD will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.” NKJV

When I awoke the Lord said, “Many enemies have gathered but they are treading on thin ice. I have allowed them to gather, but SUDDENLY you will see them fall for ‘I’ have gathered and set a trap for them”.  

Originally, the dream focused on the gathering of our enemies. I had noticed that it seemed that every enemy imaginable had raised its ugly head in not only my life but also many of those around me. The interpretation unfolded into a word for 2005.

This dream will also prove to be confirmation to many of you and should bring great comfort. The enemies you see gathering will SUDDENLY be no more! This word has some conditions …when the Lord says, I will, it always says if you will (do certain things).

At first, I did not make the connection nor realize the similarities of the dream to the movie “Ten Commandments”. The demise of the enemy forces looked and felt similar to picture of the Egyptians and horses as they fought underwater floundering head over foot as they were utterly destroyed. I really love the fact that the Lord brought to light a picture with which most can identify.

The more I though of it, the more I could sense the meaning and similarities. Remember, the Lord said, “I have gathered them and I have set a trap for them.

Ex 14:1-4 The Red Sea Crossing … 1 Now the LORD spoke to Moses, saying: 2 "Speak to the children of Israel, that they turn and camp before Pi Hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, opposite Baal Zephon; you shall camp before it by the sea. 3 For Pharaoh will say of the children of Israel,’ They are bewildered by the land; the wilderness has closed them in.' 4 Then I will harden Pharaoh's heart, so that he will pursue them; and I will gain honor over Pharaoh and over all his army, that the Egyptians may know that I am the LORD." And they did so. NKJV

The enemy has looked at us and said, “They are bewildered, confused and vulnerable in the wilderness, now is a good time to take them out!”

Many are facing enemies that have plagued them for years, some are facing enemies they thought had long since “’Let them go’”! How bewildered we must look to the enemy. While we by now should have entered into the rest of the Lord, we are confused and bewildered at the onslaught that we now see in the natural.

In Exo 14, did not Pharaoh say “Arise and go out”. Did he not advise his military to let them go out, essentially he said, “let them go with all their stuff”? If so, why are we seeing the same enemies again? Notice, God said in verse 4, “Then I will harden Pharaoh's heart, so that he will pursue them”,

Who stirred the enemy to gather and pursue? God did! What was His reason? “And I will gain honor over Pharaoh and over all his army, that the Egyptians may know that I AM the LORD."

Isa 46:10-12 …10 Declaring the end and the result from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure and purpose, 11 Calling a ravenous bird from the east--the man [Cyrus] who executes My counsel from a far country. Yes, I have spoken, and I will bring it to pass; I have purposed it, and I will do it. 12 Listen to Me, you stiff-hearted and you who have lost heart, you who are far from righteousness (from uprightness and right standing with God, and from His righteous deliverance). AMP 

At times, we act as if the God Who neither sleeps nor slumbers "dozed off" and allowed us to become hemmed in by the enemy. Wait, did we not just read in Isa 46:10 and 11 that He declares the end and the result from the beginning and even calls a ravenous bird to do his will? In Ex 14:1, 2, did not God tell Moses exactly where to camp? Now was it not He who hemmed them in between The Rock and a hard place with nothing to do but stand still and see the salvation of the Lord?

 For in this season, the Lord has stirred them up so that He can show up and show out. (To be continued)
